The Challenge
IKE Tech's software handles age verification for age restricted products and makes sure only legitimate goods clear customs. The brand they came to us with was built by technologists for technologists: tech driven, not especially friendly, and difficult for anyone outside the business to decode. Given the software eventually asks consumers to share identification, and given nicotine can be a taboo category, the brand had to feel serious and trustworthy without being cold or off-putting.
The Approach
We kept the foundations, the core colours and the overarching brand lockup, and evolved everything around them. Corners were curved, the typeface softened and rounded, and the palette lightened, all aimed at making a serious piece of technology feel like something on the consumer's side rather than something to be wary of. We reframed the narrative too, shifting it away from the technology and towards the problem it solves and the people it protects. Full brand guidelines were built to hold that consistency as the business grows.
The Solution
IKE Tech has since gone through a significant period of growth and is a very different business to the one we started with, now seeking investment as demand for age gated products increases. We work with them on a retained basis, building decks and presentations for conversations with major players across age restricted industries, and continuing to evolve the brand from a tech narrative into a clear, customer facing story.
