The Challenge
Mit has run tuition businesses for years, and Spark Vale Academy is her local offering, a school for students with special learning needs. The brand she had felt stark and, if we are honest, a bit dull for what she actually provides. She needed something with character and warmth that would still stand up to scrutiny when Ofsted walk through the door.
The Approach
We paired an authoritative, content led tone of voice with a far warmer visual world. Colour does most of the lifting, with a palette that harks back to Spark Academy's past but carries much more energy and punch. Illustration was kept purposeful, built around the school itself and the way children grow through their time there. The logo was drawn to feel soft and approachable. Throughout, we leaned towards lifestyle rather than institution, because the students at Spark Vale have not got on with the average school, and the last thing this brand should do is remind them of one.
The Solution
We rolled the brand out well beyond the logo: event merchandise, the storefront in Leicester, presentation decks, letterheads and full business stationery. Spark Vale now has a consistent identity across everything a parent, a student or an inspector is likely to see, and it manages to feel reputable and genuinely wholesome at the same time.
